志野は白い肌から土の色が透けて見えるようでその対比が面白い。
この鉢には絵柄はありませんが、白い釉薬の下に鉄分を含んだ釉薬が塗られているのでしょうか。そのせいで白い釉薬から赤茶色が見えているのかもしれません。
形は縁を3か所すこし持ち上げられていることで、シンプルなデザインながら手を加えたことによって単純さから親しみやすさを感じさせてくれています。

Shino ware allows the color of the clay to show through the white surface, creating an interesting contrast.
This bowl has no design, but perhaps a glaze containing iron has been applied underneath the white glaze. This may be why the reddish-brown color is visible through the white glaze.
The shape has three slightly raised edges, and although the design is simple, the added touches give it a sense of familiarity through its simplicity.
